Cellulite Cures And Treatments: A Detailed Comparison

Millions of women all over the world are desperate to have their cellulite removed. Because of this, they don’t hesitate in spending thousands of dollars just to try the latest cellulite solution or treatment available. The different treatments utilize different methods in removing cellulite-ridden skin, the question is, which ones work best?

Some people swear by certain treatments, detox and diet programs while others claim that few of them even work. Following are the pros and cons of some of the methods used in the treatment of cellulite:

Massage Therapy

Pros:
Massage is effective in promoting blood circulation and relaxation. It targets the lymph nodes and stimulates the flow of lymphatic vessels resulting to the removal of excess fluid. The lymph system plays a large role in the development of cellulite. It actually acts as drainage and if it is not functioning correctly, waste can be trapped between cells resulting to the formation of cellulite. Therefore, regular massage can be good in promoting better circulation.

Cons:
The disadvantage of a manual massage is that it cannot offer consistent results. There is no full-proof guarantee that a massage therapist can consistently carry out the correct technique all the time especially when it comes to applying the right amount of pressure. If not performed properly, it can even result in the formation of more cellulite. Finding the right massage therapist is vital. See the “cellulite massage” section for more info.

cellulite treatmentMesotherapy

Pros:
Mesotherapy is one of the most impressive forms of cellulite treatments available. It is an alternative to liposuction and aims in eliminating excess fat through injection of pharmaceutical drugs, natural plant extracts, and essential vitamins into the subcutaneous fat which is where cellulite is found. Since it is applied directly to the cellulite, it can offer more permanent results than other cellulite treatment methods.

Cons:
After the procedure, you may feel a little bit of swelling on the affected area and notice discoloration on the part that’s been injected. Expect to see bruises and bumps on the area as well. Click here for more info on cellulite mesotherapy.

Cellulite Creams and Lotions

Pros:
One of the quickest and least expensive options you can take advantage of. Anti cellulite creams and lotions are totally painless and are very convenient to use since you can carry them wherever you go.

Cons:
Easy come, easy go. This is the best description you can give anti-cellulite creams. Just as they are quick to apply, the effects they offer are also quick to disappear. They can only offer temporary relief and the moment you stop using them, you can expect the dimples in your legs and butt to return.

Body Wraps

Pros:
Extremely effective not just in reducing cellulite but eliminating extra inches from your waist, thighs, and buttocks in just a short period of time. Body wraps are very simple to use. You can wrap them around your skin that’s affected with cellulite and leave them there for 45 minutes.

Cons:
Can produce heavy perspiration, which may result to dehydration when left ignored.

Strength Training Exercise

Pros:
A strength training workout program can be extremely beneficial because it not only reduces your body fat, it can help you develop better muscle tone that will help smooth out the skin. If you want to try strength training, make sure you have a program that is specifically made to target cellulite prone areas such as your upper legs, tummy, thighs and butt.

Cons:
If you’re a beginner, you will definitely need to hire a personal trainer or have someone there to guide you through the workouts. Performing strength training without the correct technique can cause more harm than good. A trainer’s knowledge and experience will be beneficial in helping you learn the correct techniques, to avoid injury and also to see faster results.

Diets & Detoxification

Pros:
An anti-cellulite diet is made up of a combination of fresh fruits and vegetables and less of foods rich in saturated fats making it beneficial for overall health and not just for the treatment of cellulite.

Cons:
The only disadvantage here (if there is any) is that you will have to change the way you eat, and what you eat. Giving up all the fatty foods that you love as well as reducing alcohol intake, which is not an easy thing to do for a lot of people. View our cellulite detox guide here.

OK, so none of these treatments are enough. We should combine let’s say Massage Therapy with Diets & Detoxification and Strength Training Exercise and make a 3 in 1 cellulite treatment? Or the laser solution is better?

    Hi Avril,

That sounds like a plan :) 3 of them put together will bring about the best results for sure. What’s the point of laser treatment if you’re living a generally unhealthy lifestyle?
